THE NEXGEN YOUTH ARTS CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES
The NexGen Youth Arts Conference will convene March 31 – April 1, 2017 in Harrisburg, PA. The conference draws attendees from across the state and features multiple labs and workshops on fine and performing arts, multimedia technology, and other arts-based career paths led by some of the most dynamic professionals in their respective fields.
The NexGen Visual Art Exhibition is dedicated to the educational and artistic advancement of talented up and coming aspiring artists. Conference exhibition submissions are open to grade levels, 8-12 from both public and private schools across Pennsylvania and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic states—New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and the DMV. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show in the following divisions: MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, and COLLEGE. Additional prizes will be listed here as they become available, but the winners of these prizes will be chosen and announced at the same time as the category prizes.

1 piece in any of the following media categories:
- Drawing (pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel, crayon, marker)
- Painting (oils, acrylics, tempera and watercolor)
- Mixed Media
- Craft (ceramics, glass-work, wood carving, fibers)
- Digital Art
All 2D submissions must be display ready and no larger than 36″ in either direction. Work must be matted and wired. Any 3-Dimensional piece submitted may not weigh more than 25 pounds. All work must be labeled with NexGen Student Art Label including name, grade, school district and medium [ label will be sent as part of exhibitor packet if submission is accepted into show].
Photos can be uploaded to any online photo album [Flickr, Picasa, Facebook etc.] for which you may designate a link to a specific album or image. Once your album is complete, list the link to it in your application (or use the application file uploader). You may upload up to 10 total photos of your work. Please indicate in individual photo captions which work the picture is for. Please take caution to double check all photo gallery links to make sure they are accessible publicly with the link you provide!
Digital Art submissions may not exceed 5 minutes in length. All media pieces must follow guidelines for appropriate language and nature. All digital files must be on a CD/DVD and ready to be displayed at the conference.
All artwork must be original and created by the student. Incidences of plagiarism will not be tolerated and may result in the rejection of participation in the conference.
All artwork submitted must be appropriate for an academic setting. Works containing cursing, profanity or inappropriate themes may result in rejection of participation in the conference. Sale of Artwork is at the discretion of the artist. Please indicate preference on your application.
In order for your submission to be considered for exhibit, the completed Application Form must be submitted to NexGen Youth Arts Conference no later than Friday, March 24, 2017 for visual work.
